Honoring its spring 2025 graduating class, LSU awarded more than 1,100 degrees to graduates at the university’s commencement exercises on Friday, Aug. 15. See the full graduates list, or visit the LSU commencement site.
“These graduates represent the very best of what LSU stands for— excellence, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference,” Interim LSU President Matt Lee said. “They leave our campus prepared not only to succeed, but to lead.”

Special Recognition
During the ceremony, Lori Garrison, president and director of the William A. Brookshire Foundation, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree in appreciation for her unwavering commitment to education and the legacy of her late father, LSU alumnus Dr. William A. Brookshire.
The Brookshire Foundation's longstanding philanthropic support of LSU includes nearly 2,400 scholarships for working students, awards for teaching excellence, and transformative support for military veterans and their families — notably the LSU William A. Brookshire Military & Veterans Student Center, William A. Brookshire LSU Military Museum, and William A. Brookshire Veterans Law Clinic.

The request to award this honorary doctorate, presented to the LSU Board of Supervisors at its June 27, 2025, meeting, said Garrison exemplifies the qualities that honorary degrees are intended to celebrate, stating, “Her visionary leadership and dedication to creating opportunities for LSU students have elevated countless families' quality of life and advanced LSU's capacity to graduate engineers who are prepared to excel in industries that are vital to everyone.”
