Biography
Dr. Shiyu Li is an assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology. Dr. Li completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Beijing Sport University in China.
She then completed her Master's degree in Kinesiology at University of Texas at San
Antonio and PhD in Translational Science at UT Health San Antonio. Prior to joining
LSU, She was a postdoctoral research fellow under the supervision of Dr. David E.
Conroy at the Pennsylvania State University and the University of Michigan.
As a behavioral scientist, Dr. Li's research is driven by a simple goal: to make behavior change engaging and less
burdensome. Her primary interest involves developing behavioral interventions that
help individuals build self-regulatory skills and turn health behaviors into lasting
habits. She specializes in delivering evidence-based behavior change strategies through
digital tools. She is also interested in leveraging advanced data science techniques
to understand the behavioral initiation and maintenance process, and to translate
these insights into effective intervention strategies. Dr. Li is the director for the Health And Behavioral Intervention Technologies (HABIT) Lab.
