Requirements on National Institutes of Health (NIH) Other Support Disclosure and Training
This page establishes requirements for the disclosure of Other Support for all individuals designated in an application as senior/key personnel.
Resources:
Training requirement:
LSU Policy Statement46 (PS-46) Research Security for Federally Funded Research requires completion of Research Security Training annually for covered individuals. This training meets NIH’s requirements for Other Support training.
Procedure for Senior/Key Personnel:
- All Senior/Key Personnel must fully disclose all resources that support or relate to their research at (1) Just-in-Time (JIT) submission; (2) Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs); (3) Upon NIH request; (4) Updates: If something was missed or changes, submit promptly
- All Senior/Key Personnel must certify the accuracy and completeness of their Other Support disclosures.
- All Other Support disclosures shall be submitted following NIH format requirements (e.g., Just-In-Time or in RPPRs) with supporting documentation for foreign agreements or appointments.
- If undisclosed Other Support is subsequently identified, Senior/Key Personnel, in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), must submit updated Other Support to the Grants Management Specialist named in the Notice of Award as soon as it becomes known.
Tools to assist with Other Support reporting:
- Each individual researcher is responsible for ensuring that his/her Current and Pending (Other) Support form is complete and accurate and follows funding agency’s guidelines. OSP’s Current and Pending (Other) Support website provides tools to assist with preparing Current and Pending (Other) Support forms. It is imperative that individuals review and verify all sponsored project data by referring to the submitted proposals, awards, and any subsequent amendments. These tools reflect only the data points captured in GeauxGrants and Workday.
- Individuals must also report consulting agreements, in-kind contributions, and resources and/or financial report received that are not a sponsored project per the NIH Other Support guidelines.
