LSU students are using spring break to build leadership skills and serve communities through SLICE programs in Campus Life. Initiatives like Geaux Big Baton Rouge and the Disney Leadership Experience help students gain real-world leadership and career readiness skills.

As warming winters allow black mangroves to expand into Louisiana’s wetlands, researchers have discovered an unexpected benefit: their deep roots can reduce marsh-edge erosion. With time to establish, mangroves could become a powerful natural tool for protecting coastlines.
