Student Engagement
The Chevron Center helps engineering students connect with fellow students through mentorship, team-based projects, and networking events, fostering a strong community of support. Scholarship-based programs offered through the center provide financial assistance while also promoting personal and professional development through leadership training, career preparation, and hands-on learning experiences. These opportunities help students build valuable skills and connections that enhance their academic and career success.
Geaux Engineering is a multi-day Welcome Week event designed exclusively for College of Engineering students. This program provides first-year students with an early introduction to the college experience and their future careers. Guided by upperclassman mentors, participants engage in hands-on design projects, explore different engineering disciplines, and take part in team-based activities. [BB1]

The event is proudly sponsored by Marathon.
Big Sibling: The Big Sibling Program pairs engineering freshmen with seasoned upperclassmen for a dynamic peer-to-peer mentorship experience. Monthly topics focus on key skills to help mentees successfully integrate into LSU’s engineering community and build healthy, sustainable, professional habits. Additionally, the program offers exclusive educational and networking events, providing valuable opportunities for students to connect with their peers and local engineering professionals.
Global Engagement: The Center features regular office hours by study abroad advisors, and serves as an information hub for International Student Services and the Study Abroad office.
